It really blows my mind on how many people have migrated to Facebook. At first I thought it was just going to be a HUGE fad that would eventually die down, but with the functionality of Web 2.0 and their widgets…it seems like Facebook has become the top dog for social networking sites.

The only issue I have with the site is their privacy settings. They are so complex, that sometimes I wonder if I haven’t locked them down tight enough or too tight. But then again, people who use Facebook are really just feeding the voyeur in themselves…

Sorry for being so lazy about posting lately.  Work has been crazy for the past two weeks, and I finally have a little time off to study for the CISSP next week.  So I will be MIA for at least a week or two.  Study, study!  And I thought that was over after I graduated from my MBA.

I have great news and bad news. The great news is that I was able to find my pictures that I thought were corrupted on my original CompactFlash card. That is fantastic, because now (when I get off my lazy butt) I can post them to my Flickr account. The bad news is that ImageStation a location I used to host pictures at has closed down its business and I will have to migrate all my photos off of there. I loved that site, because I could send out albums without sharing them to everyone and their mom.

Furthermore, I could limit what albums people could see, which was a cool feature I have not found on other photosharing websites. ImageStation supposedly set up a deal with Shutterfly to help people migrate over, and I guess I can just check it out. I am gonna miss the functionality of ImageStation. *sigh*

So I just found out recently that my photo webhosting (well one of them at least) is closing its doors next year and I will have to somehow download all of the photos one by one. I have been with Imagestation for ages, and have been very happy with the features they offered, not to mention you can share photo albums with people without giving them access to ALL your albums.

AND, when I was checking my external hard drive I noticed that some of my photos I took recently have been corrupted, so a lot of the photos I shot in Trafalgar Square and the whole project I was working on has been corrupted. I am hoping I have a backup copy somewhere or at least have the CompactFlash still with all of those photos, but I am not holding my breath.

Lesson learned…backup your photos and do it often.

Well my buddy Amar is finally in Denver about to start his new role with a Big 4 accounting firm in their IA Audit department.  Should be exciting stuff for him, I bet he will really enjoy the work.  I am not sure, however, if he’ll survive the winter in Denver…anyway his first day is 10 September.

As for me, everyone (including my client) has asked me what is next…it is like everyone somehow expects me to do something amazing now that my MBA is complete or run off and get a new job.  It is all a bit weird if you ask me, can’t I just sit here at work and just work hard?  Or do I really have to make a life changing decision?

This summer has been a hot one thus far, full of work and the occasional paintball game. For the first time in ages, I was able to play 2 games of paintball. Well, technically 3, but one day was more of an Outlaw Paintball day that lasted only two hours.

On 2 September, we played up at Lake Elsinore were we survived three random natural events.

First, at 10:29am there was a 4.7 Magnitude earthquake right near by the field, which put everyone on edge slightly. Second, we had to deal with 110 degree weather. Third, around 3pm we got hit with a freak thunderstorm that literally drenched the entire field and had gusts upwards of 30mph.

Let us just say it was an eventful afternoon.

I have tried to dodge this bullet as long as I can, but it has finally caught up with me.  I am taking my CISSP sometime in November.  I hate studying for tests and such.

Oh well, there goes my plans for a relaxing Christmas Holidays.
