This summer has been a hot one thus far, full of work and the occasional paintball game. For the first time in ages, I was able to play 2 games of paintball. Well, technically 3, but one day was more of an Outlaw Paintball day that lasted only two hours.
On 2 September, we played up at Lake Elsinore were we survived three random natural events.
First, at 10:29am there was a 4.7 Magnitude earthquake right near by the field, which put everyone on edge slightly. Second, we had to deal with 110 degree weather. Third, around 3pm we got hit with a freak thunderstorm that literally drenched the entire field and had gusts upwards of 30mph.
Let us just say it was an eventful afternoon.

I forgot to mention the other day that I was at the Tour de France time trials on Sunday. It was all a blur down on the tracks, you’d see in the distance the team car driving behind the cyclist and the chase motorcycle broadcasting the race from the course. But before you even knew it they would be whizzing by at speeds of about 35 mph. I have some photos, and when I have some time I will drop some of the photos into my Flickr account, so you can see them mixed in on the right side. Until then, I will probably highlight on or two my favorites.
I have found I secretly am starting to watch the Tour de France highlights, mostly for the fantastic speed and strategy the cyclists are demonstrating. Partially because of a sick fascination with the race ending crashes that have occurred over the past few days. A cyclist going down at 30 mph is not a pretty sight, and if the pack is too dense, that often leads to mass chaos and other cyclists going down. Case in point, the crash on Monday.
