Last night I went out for a friend’s birthday and while we were out, a couple of girls who were with us tried to enlighten me on the “creepy” guy syndrome. Thankfully, I don’t think I fall into that category, but they explained to me that there are a lot of guys out there who are creepy. So what makes a guy creepy, they said it is hard to define per se, but it is a feeling the guy gives you. Maybe he stares at you too much, the way he walks up to you staring, and then moves away still staring. Maybe it is the way he doesn’t take a hint when he is talking to you and your group of friends.
How can you tell if you are creeping out a bunch of girls? Well, first if you notice when you approach they start to circle around each other like a roman phalanx. Second, do you get the vibe that they are excluding you from their conversation. Lastly, do they immediately change the conversation when you approach.
Body language is hard to tell and women by nature want to be nice to you. However, sometimes if you see women rolling their eyes, pulling away, and trying to avoid you. You should regroup, rethink, and maybe just leave them alone.

Tonight I was riding the Metro home at about 11:30pm at night (it was a long night at work) and the Metro was PACKED. I was a bit taken aback when I boarded because normally when I ride after 9pm it is pretty quiet. But tonight it was standing room only, and everyone and their mom was on Metro (in fact I think I saw my mom on the Metro but I can’t be sure).
This phenomenon piqued my interest to find out, why at 11:30pm there are as many people at 7am rush hour on the Metro. Talk about weird and surreal.

I did it. I added a link to a To Do List now in the upper right hand corner. To virtualize my To Do List, and hopefully remind me on a daily basis the things I need to do. In a previous post I had mentioned all of the things I wanted to do. Now I have to just stick to slowly knocking out my To Dos one by one. And I have to try to remember to chunk them into manageable tasks, not “Solve World Hunger” as that could take a lifetime.
On an interesting sidenote, summer is almost over and one of the things I wanted to do this summer was get a tan. And yet, I haven’t had a chance yet to do this. I procrastinated in buying some nice outdoor patio furniture and as such I am missing out on prime tanning on my balcony time. *sigh* Oh well. Maybe next summer?

I know everyone goes through the feeling they need more minutes in the day, more minutes for their phone plan, more minutes to sleep, and more minutes to day dream about more minutes. Tonight, as I sat on my floor with my laptop, I realized I just don’t have enough minutes in the day to get anything I want done. I haven’t decided if it is because maybe I am not efficient…or maybe its because I trying to perpetually multi-task and doing nothing effectively. Hah.
I have a list of projects I want to really get sorted out:
- Update my Plaxo so that all of my contacts are current (or at least accurate)
- Load the said Plaxo contacts to my mobile phone so my phone has a current information
- Unpack from my move from San Diego to VA/DC (yes I am still living in boxes)
- Organize my files on all of my removable drives so that I consolidate my data (yes, my pictures, files, and data are strewn over 3+ TBs of hard drives)
- Email all of my friends who I have neglected for the past 3 months (what is left of them)
- Invent a time freezing device that will allow me to get projects 1 - 5 completed in a nanosecond
That is a good start…haha, and should keep me busy for the next few weeks!

So I have started to realize that I am becoming addicted to Yelp. If you have never heard of the website, it is a pretty nifty website here in the States (sorry for those of you in Europe…”No soup for you!”) that allows you rate your favorite stores, shops, restaurants, etc. etc. What makes the site nice is that you have real people doing reviews, unlike some sites where you wonder if the employees are actually writing the reviews…here you can kind of tell.
Anyway, I digress (I know, I know, I do that a bit). I was reading some of these people’s reviews on different restaurants in the DC area and I was inspired to want to try new places, new flavors, new experiences. I want to become an amateur foodie too! Sure, I can go out all the time and dine out, but that would either leave me poor or a little bigger in the waist. I wonder if there are “food appreciation” courses out there.

Wow, are we having crazy weather or what? On the East Coast we are seeing heat waves (although today was mildly better) and the Midwest is suffering from floods and tornadoes. It almost seems like Mother Nature is telling us she is really, really pissed off.
An interesting site is hosted at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Services website. It lists out all of the warnings and we seem to have some real extreme weather out there. I was reading some rants by a few bloggers that Global Warming is a scam, and that there isn’t any scientific proof…but this weather makes me really wonder.
